Colour dye from natural ingredients - how do you use it?
we use a lot of red cabbage and noticed the water turns a lovely blue which i would like to use as a dye for t shirtst etc., but not sure how one does this - and how long does the colour last?
Heat ofcourse will release the color, boiling...
As far as how to set it in, if you add white vinegar to the wash the first time you wash it, that will set in the color...You might even just try using the vinegar when you're doing the dye...You'll really just have to experiment..If I were you, I'd start with an old tshirt that you don't care about anymore before you try it on new stuff..But the vinegar is the key to setting it in...
